Acupuncture offers a non-invasive approach to treating infertility and research has shown that it increases a couples’ ability to conceive naturally. It is also proven to be an effective complement to medical interventions such as IVF. Recently more and more research has shown that acupuncture increases fertility.
When clients present with unexplained infertility , or various other conditions like endometriosis, P.C.O.S. etc., I will often, after an assessment ask clients to embark on a course of treatments and supplements for up to three months (often much shorter) before they consider I.V.F. and to date have had unbelievable success with many clients willing to testify to this.
Studies show that women undergoing I.V.F. who receive acupuncture have a much greater chance of conceiving (up to 50%). Scientific research has shown that acupuncture increases blood supply to the reproductive organs. I specialize in these treatments and work around my clients throughout, including egg collection and implantation.
During the course of pregnancy acupuncture is a safe and effective means of relieving morning sickness, nausea, back ache and tiredness. When the baby is breech presentation moxabustion can be used to turn baby and has a success rate of up to 80%. Acupuncture can also be used to induce labour and for pain relief during labour.
